What is the Regional Spend Uplift?

The Regional Spend Uplift was designed to encourage film and television productions to place their production in regions of low -audiovisual output. By filming in one of the designated regions and increasing the amount of tax credit productions are eligible to avail of, the idea was to help diversify locations where audio-visual productions happen in Ireland and also show the diversity in locations and in talent across the country.

What locations are eligible?

All counties are designated apart from: Dublin city and county, Cork city and county (except for named islands), Kildare (except for Athy), Meath (except for Kells) and Wicklow (except for Arklow).

How much uplift can your production receive?

There is a regional uplift of between 32% and 37%. The 5% uplift will be applied in 2021 and there will be a 3% uplift in 2022 and 2% in 2023.
